I've recently restored my phone to factory defaults and it decided not to remove my music. Is there any way I can get my phone and it's internal storage to a "factory fresh" state?

I'd say connect it to your PC as mass storage and delete your music from the internal memory. You're not going to touch the ROM.

I found it, went into settings > sd card and phone storage > unmount sd card (internal) > format sd card
