Root Clean up questions about Flashing and Stuff.

do a nand backup and try, plus you are not doing an ota backup so flashing a rooted rom based on the ota update shouldnt be affected by a rooted rom
 
Thanks, I'm going to make a nand backup then just root without wiping.

One more question,
What is the difference between the following:
OTA_Supersonic_3.29.651.5.zip
myn-OTA_Supersonic_3.29.651.5-DEODEXED.zip

Which should I use and why? I thought I read somewhere about "odexed" roms getting app updates while the deodexed do not?

I'll be pulling the trigger after I solve this last mystery.
 
the way you restore after a wipe using titanium is simple..
after you boot on your new rom, ANY new rom, go to the market, and download titanium FIRST..install it, the restore your apps using it...bingo, instant restore in just a few minutes..all your apps are there!
 
Found an answer to one of my questions about de-odexed verses odexed, burried on the xda forum.

Q - "What is the advantage? Isn't the odexed version just an "un-themable" version of the de-odexed?
A - when a ROM is deodexed, a lot it's not resigned correctly... pre-installed apps like sprint voicemail/tv/nascar, google maps, flash, etc won't update correctly. will need to flash updates for those apps... PITA. Odex everything updates normally... I also dont use themes, so no need for an deodexed version."
