Hey guys, I've had this question for awhile and haven't been able to find a straight answer. What is a clean wipe, how do you perform it and what does it do?

Root Clean wipe?

A factory reset. On stock that's what it would be called although it isn't quite as extensive as if you did a factory/ wipe through CWM. On stock it deletes everything but the rom. And through CWM it deletes everything including the rom. (recovery is untouched with either though)
