would it be safe to take an alcohol swab to the back side of phone? (battery cover) to kind of bring back the rubberized texture?

I'm not sure if the screen would like it, but I think the back of the phone would be okay. I'd do it very gently and then go over it with a paper towel afterwards, just to make sure it's okay and doesn't get damp, but that might just be me being worrysome.

I use Endust electronic wipes on my eris and a cloth I got at best buy for 6 bucks. My phone shines with no damage.

Alcohol over time I would think dry it out too much and maybe discolor the back? I just use a little windex on a towel once each 2 weeks or so. Otherwise I use my nice fresh breath and my t-shirt during the day when I want it cleaned
