Cleaning the screen

OMG, no, please don't listen to backdown.

I mean, maybe these mfgrs' glass has come a long way, but I doubt it. Please don't wipe a tree (cotton) across your screen! Get a microfiber cloth. You can get them from any phone outlet these days, or a big one from the walmart/target types stores or auto stores. You could also buy some expensive Oakley sunglasses and get one - May I suggest the O ROKRs - not only do you get wicked stereo A2DP bluetooth, but you also get an oversized microfiber cloth/pouch which is great for transporting your shiny new EVO. :D

I have never scratched a screen once, and i have been doing that for the past 4 years i have owned a cell phone.

Ok, ok, I give. I do it too! :) Well, I won't do it to my EVO *yet*, but I do it to my other 8 phones all the time. The EVO gets the special treatment -- for now.. :D

Nothing wrong with using your shirt unless you've either A) not washed it in forever and there are chunks of grit living on it, or B) wearing burlap bags.

Hate to be 'that guy' here, but since I got my Moment the first time, I only use my tee shirt to clean it, no spit, but just the shirt. I only wear 100% cotton shirts, so I figured it would be fine. I've had no problems in the 6 times I've wiped the screen off with my shirt today since I got my Evo. XD

My recommendation is just standard rubbing alcohol and a microfiber cloth.

I don't recommend rubbing alcohol! I'm not sure what the Evo's screen glass is made of, but I've damaged a previous cellphone screen with it and also my timex watch.

ROR and a microfiber cloth. $5-$6 for 2 ozs at camera stores. I've used less than an oz in a year and I use it on camera lenses,PC monitor, plasma TV and phone screens.

NEVER use rubbing alcohol to clean any screen or plastic. It can eat away the coatings on the screen.

Just ust a microfiber cloth or a lens cloth. If you need more cleaning power, you can try a BIT of water, and that should get anything off.

I agree, no liquid or sprays, just wipe it off or scrape/scratch the crud off. You don't want to affect the coatings on the glass (there are) and you don't want anything to build up in the cracks/nooks.

I wouldn't spit on any phone but I've always breathed heavy on it, enough to fog it up, then wiped it down with my shirt. Works good so far with Evo.
