Help Clearing unread emails count

OK, my Droid Charge keeps showing unread emails on the email icon, when there are none in my mail boxes.

I can't fix it, re-synching accounts, deleting messages - does not help, it keeps showing several unread - non existant - messages.

Anyone knows how to fix this?

I wish that I did, the stock email program for the Charge is pretty crappy IMHO. I've tried to use the Gmail app but can't keep from having to view the messages on both Gmail and the stock email program. I turned off notifications, etc. in the stock one... it still shows new message indication icon at the top, etc.

Very annoying. Maybe someone else will have some insight for us.
