Help Clicking during autofocus?

My camera, especially when using an app like Google Goggles, clicks when its focusing on something. Is this normal? Should I seek an exchange? Bought my Triumph yesterday btw.

I think that's just the motor moving the lens.

Maybe... I think I'm just being paranoid. It was a lot of trouble to spend $300 on a phone, y'know? Don't want anything to be wrong with a device that's left my pocket positively raped.

I exchanged a phone with the clicking and the new one does the same thing. It just doesn't sound right to hear plastic clicks imo which seems like something is about to break but it seems that's how it is.

Try this. Open the Camera app, and choose the top icon on the display overlay. Choose Normal for the Focus Mode and see if that is any different.

I'm on the same boat as you. I also have that clicking sound, especially when using the barcode application. It's no big deal at all, but I'm just really hoping it's not a bad sign and the thing will break when the return period expires.
I do have insurance, but I would have to shell out like $100 to replace the phone.

Nothing changes. I can still hear something moving.

I mean, it really does sound like the motor is moving the lenses back and forth or something, so it kind of seems normal to me. I mean, other cameras I have used make sounds when focusing also. I just don't know if this is not normal.

I have same problem too. I'm convince it's Not normal because if the clicking caused by lens movement ? Why aren't we able to see lens or shutters move. Having said that, even if this is normal that only shows its not worth $300 bucks. Which u might want to return the phone now while u can and wait till price drop then buy it again later. Like what I am doing now.

After returning a few for various reasons, they all have had this clicking, I've come to accept it. lol. Plus if it breaks a year + down the road, it might give me a chance to get an upgrade from BB with the replacement plan if the phone is out of circulation. :p

I was more concerned when it cost me $300 but after getting it for $210 recently I'm happy with it.

Exactly. After returning my first MT I decided to get the BB Black Tie coverage for 2 yrs ($40). If in a years time things start going south on the device I can take it in to BB and either get a shiny new Triumph or something of "similar functionality". I dont usually go for replacement plans but the Triumph seems a little tempermental. :D

I'm starting to think it's normal. When I use the normal camera, I don't notice anything. It only happens when using Barcode Scanner and I believe everyone out there is experiencing the same. So I think it's all good.
