clock randomizer?

I should have your problems.... me, I just wait for dawn to light up the world and then I know that my daughter is coming home from work soon :)

Just for funnies, I looked into MacroDroid which is my Favorite App.

I picked out "Shake Device" for the Trigger Event.
Then for ACTION I selected a Popup Message and named it "What? Me Worry?"

after the Mad magazine character of course... I can't find anything that will randomize the system clock, but at least you won't have to worry about it with my macro.

I think if you mess with the system clock, you may get unexpected results from certain apps like Google play. Better to leave system clock alone and display a fake clock if you can. Don't know if that exists.

@AZgl1500: So I googled MacroDroid. How does that help? P.S. Abut plugging away until sun-up...problem is, I have a day job.

@electricpete: Well, I haven't set the clock since installing CM 12, and to me, the time is somewhat random right now because I try very hard not to figure out what the effective timezone is. But I'm going to figure it out eventually. Plus, if the handset is syncing system time over the air, then the random offset is just a multiple of one hour, and that is not helpful for keeping myself ignorant of the time. Because I have a rough idea what hour it is.

Regarding the messing up of apps, if there was a time randomizer, it should have a toggle switch to bring back the actual time. All the app needs to do is to keep track of the random offset, and change it every so often.

Wouldn't a much simpler solution be to remove the clock from the status bar? Last time i had Cyanogen installed there was an option to remove the clock entirely.

Wonderful....but I'm only halfway there. The lock screen still screams the time at one's face. I disabled cLock many days ago, and have powered off since. It still shows up in the Disabled Apps section. I think the clock might have been gone from the lock screen at some point. Other apps that I disabled are: Android Live Wallpapers, Basic Daydreams, Black Hole, Bubbles. Just based on reading about them. I think most of the reading may have been on the web.

Oh, I forgot: Thanks for the suggestion. It certainly forms part of the solution. I'm open to suggestions on the remaining lock screen clock. As I said, I thought I had solved that some time ago, but I don't know why it has come back.

Look in the lock screen settings. It seems like you should be able to simply choose a different widget for the lock screen (for example weather)

(again, it's been some time since I've had cm installed, so I'm going strictly from memory)

That post I made was a "tongue in cheek" facetious type post.
Reference back to my "What? Me Worry?" statement.

You have to have some humor to get thru life. In all seriousness, I do not think you will be able to alter the clock.

The best I think you could do, is to somehow cause the phone to change Time Zones... but I did not see a way in MacroDroid to effect that.

When I was still a 40 hour slave, I never wore a watch, I refused to look at clocks.... when the other guys started packing up, that meant it was time to go home.

Yes, I thought there should be some way in there too, but it's not obvious (assuming that it exists in CM 12). Looked a few times.

I hate looking at clocks. Time is always flying by. Sometimes it helps, though to get you to pace yourself and properly prioritize. Sometimes it just prevents you from getting into the zone to make headway on things.

Yes, I have considered it. My googling indicates that it is the only way to avoid a clock on the lock screen. I'm just mulling it for now because my aim was to minimize the apps I have on the phone. Every new app means research to vet it from a security/privacy perspective.
