clock too bright in the media dock?

Just wanted to know b4 I buy...Does "Bedside" turn front keys completely off? or just dims?

That's a bummer. Those stoopeed buttons staying lit all night is what causes me to turn the DROID off. Oh well. At lease Pandora still runs, and "Sleep Timer" shuts it off.

How do you put in a new ringtone? There are a set of default alarms and they are all annoying as hell. I usually like to wake up to something a little less jarring, like Bob Marley or something.

I know I'm being picky but the dock performance of my BB is somethign I miss. I love the contacts on the back so that you didn't actually have to connect anything to USB, just drop it in the dock and go. I also really liked the little light on it so if you pulled the phone out of the dock you could find it again easily to drop it back in. Yeah, I know that's eing pick, and the droid beats everything else imo on the bb so I'm still very happy

Just in case you all have not found it and you are rooted, there is an app called LEDs Hack. This will turn off those annoying white softkeys at the bottom while it is docked. It saved me from having to remove it from my night stand. Sorry about the folks that are not rooted. Hopefully there will be something coming down the pipe for you all.

you could always download the new 2.1 clock from droid-life.com. it has night mode and a few other new goodies. the night mode is perfect. it also turns into a screen saver.

I have the bed side clock that is better however the 4 keys are bright for me as well.

And I enjoy reading other peoples response it helps to know I'm not the only one having this problem.

I do not want the screen on all the time.
Just when in the dock.

I would like the behavior in the dock to be as such:

When in the night display mode, turn off the quick keys, and let the screen time out and shut off after x amount of time. The camera button should turn it on for x amount of time, and also snooze alarms.

Hopefully the next iteration will be more configurable.

For those of you with rooted phones download a program called led hack. I will turn off the lights at the bottom of the phone. I use it with clock 2.1 with long press and it only displays the time. Not only that but it rotates around the face of the phone like a screen saver.
