Root Clockwork Mod Restart Problem

Davidhalo

Lurker
So here are the steps :

Open Rom Manager
Current Receovery : CWM 3.2.0.1

But if I click Reboot into Recovery or Install Rom from sd card or ANYTHING it has to do to restart into Recovery mode it just doesn't work1

The screen starts black and goes : Loading...
Goes black
Then backlight comes on and goes loading... again
Then ANDROID _
then android
Starts.

It just skips recovery mode completely so I feel like I'm missing something. Is there a way to do this manually or is there something small I'm missing that I should be aware of ?

Thanks!

Did you tap the top button in Rom Manager to install recovery? It should say "success" and you'll see a superuser message in the background OR a prompt for superuser asking for permission.

If that doesn't work, (maybe you clicked on deny for the last request), then find superuser in your list of apps and find the entry for RM and press it and choose "forget", then try it in RM again.

Made sure it had superuser permissions and it did. Clicked install from sc card, clicked the cm7 i downloaded from rom manager, let it reboot device not touching anything and it just goes right back to loading android ala usual.

Is there something else I'm supposed to be doing while its rebooting, am i supposed to usb plugged in at all ?

I appreciate the help, I'm a noob at rooting.

In ROM Manager there is an 'Install Recovery', have you done that?

You can be plugged in to USB, but if you are make sure that it is on 'charge only'.
