I just bricked my phone then ran a restore and all is well aside from the fact that my market has vanished:eek:... Is this normal? and how do I get it back?

100% stock Nandroid Backup

CWM 4.0.1.4 Triumph

Stock Recovery

make sure you install the CWM by going into fastboot (vol - and power on) Hook up usb, then drop the recovery.img in the folder on the MOBILE drive.

Extract "Stock Triumph 1980 01 06.00.00.34.7z" to /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/ on the sd. Boot into CWM and look for mounts. First format system, data, cache, and under advanced format dalvik cache, then select "backup and restore" and under the restore options select the Stock_Triumph_1980-01-06.00.00.34 folder, and it will restore a never powered on backup of the stock rom.

Hey guys,

I realize I'm a little late to the party, but I managed to fix my CWM port as well. You can see what I did here: https://github.com/ikarosdev/androi...mmit/1f76ea4a61352bc2231845807f6c15d84c70e33c

If you'd like to use my CWM version, just download the package and follow the same steps to get it on the phone.

recovery-clockwork-4.0.1.4-triumph: recovery-clockwork-4.0.1.4-triumph.zip

The keymapping is a little different on mine as well:

Code:
Volume up --> up
Volume down --> down
Power --> back
Menu --> select
Home --> nothing
Back --> back
Search --> nothing

Hey guys,

I realize I'm a little late to the party, but I managed to fix CWM port as well.

I put it on my phone and did a nandroid backup... looks good. USB mount doesnt work, right? I think ill be sticking to your version since its triumph specific

I dropped the new cwm on and it virbrates once like normal when trying to go into it and then it sits at the motorola symbol.... When I go to try to replace it again it tells me the mobile mount is read only all of the sudden ?!?!!! Any ideas?

isaac - would you mind if I posted your CWM file over on another forum with credit back to you here? I wanted to PM you but evidently you have that turned off... so feel free to PM me. :)

Any idea how I can get read write access back in the mounts under ubuntu. I tested the previous CWM perfectly, but when I transfered this latest one it did not work for some odd reason. Suspecting the the file might have been corrupt during transfer I went to try to copy it over again and it says the MOBILE and image folder is read only?! in fact it is now acting like all of the mounts are from the phone?!

EDIT:

After much mucking with disk utility, the trash bin (not quite deleted file had it in limbo?), and so on I managed to get read write back somehow after hours of poking around and rebooting. The new CWM for triumph (isaacj87 variation) is now booting properly. Thanks again!

has there been any hard evidence of any difference between 38 and 39? Mine's running really well on 38...

No, my GPS still does not lock, didn't notice anything diff in the screen, however my USB started working again, also though, I restored back to my backup (_38) and the USB still works.

I've been browsing this thread and it's a bit overwelming. I just got my Triumph in the mail. Should I root before activating or after? And is the ClockWorkMod what I want to do? Is that video tutorial what I should follow?

Thanks in advance, don't wanna rush into this and screw anything up.

Wait till after... activate it first and make sure everything is working how you like it. Call quality, GPS, Display, etc etc.. after youre satisfied that you dont need to return/exchange it, then its time to play around with mods and customizing

no activate your phone first before rooting. yes follow the video and barnito's links

I'm trying to restore my system.img from a backup and it's telling me md5 mismatch. I calculated the md5 hash of my system.img and its exactly the same as the hash in the nandroid.md5 file. any ideas? If it makes any difference, i moved this backup off of my sd card and put it on my computer's hard drive. now i'm putting it back on the sd card to restore it.

EDIT: Looks like it was the sd card reader going bad. used a different reader to copy the img over and it restored fine

I think I must have missed something. I downloaded the CWM recovery file. I followed all the instructions, I booted holding both volumes and power. But then the instructions kind of end abruptly.

I'm led to believe the root was successful if I enter the CWM boot mod screen, but then am I supposed to do something?

I rebooted, downloaded titanium backup and the app says it cannot get root access. So I'm not sure the root worked. Any ideas?
