ClockworkMod Recovery

bgrade

Lurker
Hey guys, new here on the forum, i will be getting my new GS2 in 2 weeks, upgrading from a D2G and i have been reading up and trying to gather up info i need to root it and whatever, however i am not sure if the area i live in currently has ICS released, i think we are only on 2.3.6, so question:

1. Is there any way that i can get ICS on my phone?

2. I used to use Clockworkmod to backup the android version on my D2G in case i didnt like gingerbread and was able to flash back to froyo (until the last update which made flashing now impossible), can i do the same with the GS2? because i havent come cross a single post where someone said that it can be done, and over on another forum where they provide the stock roms/firmware, the files have seemed to be removed.

thanks

Hello and welcome to Android Forums, bgrade! :)

In answer to your question #1, see posts #1 and #2, here.

In answer to your question #2, you can use ClockworkMod to do a nandroid backup but you will need to root your phone to obtain this. See posts #1 and #2, here.

Grab a coffee and start reading. ☕

Hope this helps.
