Root ClockWorkMod

Okay, I just found where the external sd directory is and put it in there, went into recovery and it was there. If this screws up my phone... I can restore from backup right?

I would believe so, but backups are not something im super familiar with, though this is writing to the boot partition not the recovery so i think you should be okay

Works geat! Thanks all for your hard work! My only question is that in cwm the back button always gets disabled for some reason

Cycle through the menus 3 times and it should come back. Did you flash that update.zip for the boot partition? Wanna see more confirmation it works.

Also, are we gonna get cyanbread anytime soon? ;)

I am so used to only volume buttons working that I never realized the front buttons worked until people started saying back got disabled. I navigate via the menus.

Hey is there there a stock kernel because for some reason when I flashed the kernel my wifi said error in settings and it worked just fine before so I tried a factory reset and wiping dalvik and trying wifi fixers on the market but nothing worked also I'm not sure if this is possible but it worked on my old phone but if someone could post one of there backups could I restore that if I placed it in the backup folder on my external sd

Just flash the recovery again. From my understanding (someone correct me if I'm wrong) each partition has it's own kernel and that's the one in the recovery so if you flash one of the ones from a few pages back before that was included you should revert back to stock.

As for the kernel thats not the first bug I noticed, I was going to mention it yesterday but didn't get a chance. I haven't been able to isolate it for sure since I was doing a few things when it happened but I think it caused my sd card not to mount. I could mount in recovery but not rom, did a nandroid backup and still didn't work, flashed a recovery as described in this post and it went back to normal. that being said I've been enjoying having a recovery and being able to rip apart my phone so there were other things going on (Beat Audio, Build.prop edits, ect.)

Are you trying to install CWM? If you are, then that doesn't get done through recovery. It get's installed by downloading a file onto the phone and running some commands.

Hmm... Something seems wrong after flashing that update.zip. My battery stats are kind of wierd... Its saying that my phone is awake and the screen is on and that it has been since it was off the charger. And my battery has been at 100 percent for an hour.. With wifi on and all..

If you guys are interested, I'l l create another CWM flashable ZIP which will install the stock boot partition (stock kernel).

I wonder if that could be an issue potentially caused by the kernel - if you flashed that as well.

I haven't had any problems with this that I know of

I been running gp's custom kernel since he released it. I manually installed it via the dd command.

Not one issue at all

Yes, please. It seems that I have to reboot to get the battery to change it's percentage.
I tried the app battery drain and let it run for 10 minutes, still at 100%. I need the stock, this didn't happen until after the custom kernel
