Closing apps message

Since upgrading to ICS, I've been getting the warning message about force closing an app. This didn't happen with GB and I was wondering what is different and should I be concerned. Also, when you leave an app, some actually quit while others keep running which is why I use the close application button. Some apps, like Pandora you can quit as part of the program while others need to be closed manually. Is it poor app coding or the phone OS?

Yeah the warning message now pops out everywhere even when you want to put your phone in silent mode// kinda stupid! And yes some app wont close like messaging app i leave apps like that on standby android close them down on its own if needs to.

Ya, it's a pain, now two clicks to close apps instead of one, progress!!

I was logging in to complain about just this.
Has anyone figured out how to get rid of this?
I wouldn't mind rooting if it would fix it.
