Help Closing apps

Newbie
Hi all,

recently, i noticed in TaskKiller i have a Hugh amount of open applications.

my question is how to close applications properly? (they're not closing either by back nor by home buttons) and how to prevent some applications to start at start up?

Thank you

you dont really need to close them as the android os is killing them or making them inactive.
If u really want a good system app i recommend you System panel...
as for startup apps, use Autostarts or Startup Auditor.
Uninstall the task killers as they are crap and only use more battery.

are you sure the android OS is closing them?
yesterday there was about 20 apps open, some of them i haven't used for days.
my poor battery can't handle this.

thanks for the apps recommendations.

Your poor battery will do okay, as the apps won't use any processing-power as long as they're inactive in the background. A task-killer will drain your battery faster.

Maybe it would be nice to have option inside OS which could be set to kill all apps and free memory when Home or Lock button is pressed?
