I can record 1080p just fine through the stock app. I've only recieved a gallery close notification once and it happened when trying to start the video cammera while the phone was rotated horizontal. I haven't had the issue since and I've never gotten the issue if I start the video camera mode while vertical and then rotate to horizontal before recording. CM10.1 RC2
beta 4 owns all! I really wish tdm had just focused on his rom rather than get official support. beta 4 is by far the smoothest running rom this phone has ever seen.
PS. No offense tdm, you're still the man :]

Have you tried rc3 or one of the newer nightlies, 5/28 or newer? Running rc3 and I must say it's pretty smooth and solid.
Of course YMMV![]()
Could you pls. check for outlook.com working in exchange mode. Would greatly appreciate if you could post that so I could try it too. Also what about camera and camcorder in 1080 mode ?
Camcorder at 1080p works fine as long as you start it in portrait and then rotate to landscape if thats what you are trying for. Still fc's gallery if you open it in landscape.
And I'm guessing you didn't like the outlook.com app?
yes the app does not sync contacts and calendar with native ones. Hence want to use the native CM exchange email app and use outlook.com's exchange connect feature. Pls. check that and report back here..many thanks.
Guess the camera/video is not so solid
I use the outlook.com app, and unfortunately I don't have an exchange email account anywhere to test with. Hopefully someone else does and can test.
As for the camera/video it works but this is what I had to do to get it to work.
If I start the camera while holding the phone in portrait and then try to switch to video I received a gallery force close and the app shuts down. I tried clearing app data and gallery still force closed. I held the phone in landscape and started the camera and then switched to video and it worked, I did not get the gallery force close. I switched from 720p to 1080p and recorded a 20 second clip. There were some artifacts from the settings menu on the screen in a diagonal pattern on the screen but were only there for a second or two at the beginning of the video and then disappeared. They also showed up for a split second at the end of the recording.
Did a recording in 720p and no artifacts and it worked fine but still had to start in landscape.
Once you start in landscape you can switch back and forth to portait/landscape withtout the gallery fc. But I did record one video in portrait, then tried to play it back from gallery and the screen went black and I can not get the screen to come back on. Looks like I will have to reboot the phone to get it working again.Guess the camera/video is not so solid

thanks this is helpful. And I guess all other routine stuff you have tried as well and it works.
lastly- even if you use outlook.com app for your regular account, not sure if you can setup a quick test account in outlook.com and try the exchange functionality that way- I know its probably 10mins of your time more- if you can take that out. This is the only thing that I need before making the switch. Thanks anyway for responding.
Why not just make a nandroid then try the rc3? If it doesn't work then restore the nandroid...
Edit: I just did a factory reset on my phone to try it out for you. I skipped the gmail account setup, then went into settings to add one of my hotmail accounts. Using the full email address as the username and m.hotmail.com as the server I was able to successfully sync the hotmail account as a corporate account on RC3's native setup. Calendar, contacts, and email are successfully synced.

I posted something in another section about this earlier, and then realized I don't know if this is a general issue or device specific.
After installing each new nightly, the camera reverts to 1.3 MP. Not even a slightly major issue, but I'm trying to learn how to use Tasker so that after every boot (I only really ever reboot after an installation) it'll change back to 8 MP. Is this a general thing with Cyanogenmod, or is that specific to this device, does anyone know?
I honestly haven't noticed. You mean the front camera isn't staying at 8mp?
If you can figure out how it's set, you could use tasker or just do it through init.d
RC 4 is out... Guess I'll give it a try since my three favorites are being nasty... Will post on how it runs
