Root CM 7.0 Nightlies

I notice keyboard errors with Swype on this (#12), if I click a word to replace it with something else the copy/paste dialog box pops up like I had held it down which then locks Swype from exiting the edit select dialog. Its not an issue because you can still click the swype key whilst inside a word and it will allow you to replace it. Seems like the timer for how long you actually held down something for the edit box was heavily reduced.

That is the only issue I've had so far.

I'm so glad you posted this.

This has been driving me crazy. I've tried clicking the Swype key while inside the word like you say, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't - for me. It's very frustrating. I'd rather have the copy/paste feature completely disabled... I don't care about that anyway and would rather not have it at all if there's a way to turn that off, someone please post!!

CM7 for the Incredible, I would assume, matches yours for the D1 in that Android 2.3.3 debuted with Build 11 and continues with Build 12.

Just want to confirm this, because I want to flash CM7 on my daughters D1 (used to be my D1...:D), and I want to give her the same experience with 2.3.3 on her D1 as I'm having a blast with on my DInc.

Thanks!!

of course it is casue i flashed liquid rom since the nightlies stopped. Might have to try this again next week.

yeah tried that in the CM Settings. Same deal.
I can send an MMS, stock app will open the MMS, just handcent not playing very well anymore.

Interesting. I haven't used a GB ROM for a while, but know that that setting fixed my sms and mms issues.

I wonder if Handcent needs an update to be compatible with GB?

OMG. I wiped and installed CM7 RC2 for the droid this morning. I absolutely love it. It is so much more responsive than CM 6.1. Everything worked out of the box. Just have to find a kernel for it.

Btw, what do we have to do, to get the stupid stock calendar to display more than 1 calendar event (the current/next one)? Come on google, get with it. Even if I up the number of columns to 4, it only displays the next calendar event.

My wife's droid 2's blur calendar displays multiple events.

Need someone to test if multitasking is working on rc2 before I jump ship to it. See if Pandora can be playing while wirelessly tethering and navigation is working. This has been why I won't use a gb rom. There is no multitasking. When Im playing music and want to navigate at the same time, the music stops. Forget trying to do three things like I can on Froyo. This needs fixed before I jump.

i dont think so i used it in full # 1 - 10. at 10 i stopped using it because i was having problems with wireless tether and rebooted to offend after a call.

Just tested this for you and was able to run Pandora, Navigation, and Wireless Tethering simultaneously. I had some glitches in Pandora when navigation first started up, but then was smooth. Worked with all three running for several minutes before I closed them down. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to run fuller tests, but this does seem like it's back in business!

Was driving today and did exactly what you guys were talking about, Nav+Pandora+random apps here and there, it worked pretty good for good half hour, but eventually Pandora got killed. However I just learned of this app called Auto Memory Manager that allows you to keep apps in memory or change kill priority levels, so gonna give it a try to see if it will help me keep GB from killing stuff I am using or need to have running.

Thanks for testing guys. One of the things I love about the Droid and allows me 'bragging rights' is the ability, say, on a trip to be wirelessly tethering, navigating and listening to Pandora or Poweramp all at the same time. The wife's in the passenger seat on the laptop tethered to the phone while it's navigating and playing music for me. Gotta love it! If it works, that is. Froyo works great. GB has had it's problems doing this.

I'm having no problems with RC2 whatsoever. I'm really impressed with my Droid for being able to handle Gingerbread like a boss, and with the CM crew for the work that made it possible.

I knew the Droid had legs as a device, but to go from running Android version 2.0 that was installed on the Droid's release (the Droid being the FIRST smartphone with 2.0 Eclair) all the way to 2.3.3 Gingerbread all on the same device is pretty damn cool.

Chevy's Froyo/Gingerbreak 1.1 Ghz LV Kernel from 3/3 in ROM Manager is working flawlessly for me on RC2.

I couldn't use any of Chevy's LV kernels on CM 6.1.

I can't believe how smooth RC2 is running.

Joe, how long have you been running that kernel if you don't mind me asking?
