Root CM Benchmark lower than stock

I have been using Bobz cm 10 and love it. Great ROM no lag and quick but I remember back when I had a Samsung captivate and admire CM7 , CM 9 always gave me higher benchmarks than stock. Why is this CM not doing the same.

This is a perfect example of why benchmarks aren't all that useful.

Everything about an AOSP ROM is smoother than its OEM themed counterpart, but generally performs worse on benchmarks.

The take home is that benchmarks aren't a good indicator of real world usage, and the numbers should he taken with a grain of salt
