Root CM10 progress Update Thread

With all the new stuff happening with metro, im kinda feeling like were going to lose the little bit of dev love that we were getting for this phone. I really hope I'm wrong but it seems like the avid is getting less and less attention by the day :-(
 
Still trying to get build to boot. Nothing to update is why I haven't.

Being doing a lot of studying thru the build make files. I feel that I have a better understanding of how they work now. Still ain't figured out why it won't boot yet, but I wanted to let y'all know that I'm still actively trying to get it to work. I have an updated version of the device tree on repo and more updates to be pushed to repo.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!

I wasn't having much luck with cm10.1, so I synced cm10 and got it to build successfully. I got past the android guy to the cm bootanimation. Ok so it was looping, but 2 months of black screen this is a win for me. Working on the boot image a perms now.

yes 10.1 can come later when better understanding and coding is at hand

for now cm10 is a huge and anticipated step, we cannot wait to break the comfortable shackles of 4.0 and move on up! to more extravagant things!
 
I'll just be happy to be off of stock rom. CM10 will do the job, at least we can overclock and have a debloated system ! That's all I've been waiting for. Good luck, hopefully a test build is pushed out soon now that you've made it past the black screen.

tolth, are you able to logcat now that you can get to the CM boot animation screen, even though it bootlooped as you previously stated?

Can you adb from within CWM with Cm10 on it or would that not work? Also, now that you're this far. I suggest looking back a few pages where that one guy told you how he trial and errored, the one that was helping you with the device tree I'm not sure where he got off to x.x

Long time lurker. I've been waiting for this day for almost 2 months now. Came in and guessed at my old account for about 15 minutes just to come in and thank you for all the work you are doing.
I can't way I will have this phone for long, with luck I will be getting a job soon and I have my sights set on the Nexus experience HTC One, hat an amazing device. This will become my tinkering device sooner or later and once it does I have no problem testing anything anyone has to throw at it. What's the worst that can happen? I'm out a paperweight?
Thanks again for everything you are doing, can't wait to get off ICS.
 
THIS IS ONLY FOR TEST PURPOSES​
Before you download please understand that this is not a working rom. It boots up, but after that is a lil sketchy. The touchscreen will have a circle cursor that you have to drag to what you wanna select. This is one of the things that I'm hoping to get help with by posting this. For some reason I can't get adb to work, probably something that I overlooked. In the build.prop you will see some things that I have added/changed trying to figure stuff out. I have flashed this to my phone several times and it hasn't blown it up yet, but you know the whole shpeal about how I'm not responsible for you and your phone. I'd appreciate any input that anyone has.
And remember, I am new to this and am still learning and figuring things out as I go.
Please post findings or fixes here on thread.

It shouldn't be too much longer till we have a bug free cm10.

This is awesome, can't wait for things to iron out! At least progress is being made, I'm sure that took some weight off of your shoulders 'cause I'm sure you were getting very frustrated with this device aha. Great job, and hopefully this next tester fixes some of the buggyness you mentioned like the touch.

I don't think its a bad build other then the data and WiFi don't work. But if they did work I wouldnt mind using it. The circle cursor or whatever its called that you have to move around doesn't bother me too much. But hey it works.
