Root CM10 wifi issue between nightly updates

so i am running a recent nightly of CM10 and I have been trying to update to a more recent update, but each one I have tried, the wifi does not work and the "process com.phone" message is more prevalent. so it's not a real pressing issue since I still keep a back-up of a working nightly. any ideas of how to fix this or what might be causing this? i have also done a full wipe of the phone and then trying as well as just upgrading from one nightly to another.

If you went from a build before 10/10/12 to that build or later it sounds like you need to flash the new kernel. CM10 is now the new Jelly Bean (4.1.2). I'm betting you're s-on? You'll have to manually flash the kernel through fastboot.

I personally use option 1. It seems like a tiny bit of work to set up, but it's really easy to use once you set it up.

Thanks for linking the guide.


As mentioned, cm10's base as changed. As such, the old kernel breaks wifi.


Fastboot flashing the boot.img will solve your issues.

I did the exact same thing and Rxpert helped me out. I felt a bit silly for not realizing the kernel would need to be flashed.

Optionally you could flash one of the test builds of the custom aosp kernel. The ones in the thread are the old base
