Download the files, put em on your sdcard, reboot into recovery, do a backup, wipe everything but the sdcard, install from sdcard CM7's zip, reboot, if everything boots fine, reboot into recovery, install gapps from sdcard, reboot, if everything is ok, reboot into recovery, install MetrOFF if you are on MetroPCS, if on cricket you are done.

Yes, it is the same steps, you just use a different rom and gapps.

I did everything, but now the phone just keeps restarting to the cyanogen 7 screen.

You may need to do a reflash. If you wipe everything and flash it will work. You may have just had a bad flash. Try it again from the beginning.

I got it to work its soooo much better then CM6

Make sure to go into the CM settings to overclock it because it does not start out overclocked like CM6. You may have known this already but in case someone stumbles on this thread they will know. I'm glad you got it to work, it is a great rom.

click the link in my siggy cm7, once on the page scroll down to you see the gapps file, its 20110307...

"Getting rid of it" on a PC is not really a smart option. It looks like it's more the site than the actual file that is being blocked. Is it being hosted anywhere else?
I have the same issue, not willing to risk my PC for my phone.
Looking for other options.
