just a thought. is there a technical reason no one has made a cm6 for the optimus or is it just because it came with 2.2? i was thinking that maybe some people would like to stay on froyo but want the options that are offered in cynogenmod? i like cm7 and i wouldn't switch back to froyo but froyo is native to my phone so it would run smother than cm7 gingerbread. (screen lag and auto rotate mainly). input anyone?
 
The developers of CM never made one for Opitmus, it would be nearly impossible to port from any other phone other than opitmus because of hardware.

are you saying this cuz you know that for a fact?

how do you think we got CM7 for the Optimus M? Cuz I can assure you, they don't offer one.

To clarify for you: CM6 wasn't made for any phone in the Optimus line, and no one attempted porting it (or at least successfully). CM7 was ported to the Optimus One by XDA in January. The Optimus V was ported from there and then Optimus M was ported from that, hence why it still had Virgin's settings when the guys here first started. this is my point. it didn't exist before someone did the work. it is very possible to make CM6 for Optimus M. just need someone to want to do it.


also...it may not be as hard as you think. the only reason I can see as why there isn't one already is cuz anyone who can port a rom is not very concerned with CM6 on these phones :)
 
Yea...did some checking. It is based on Froyo. My guess is that there is no ROM developer that wants to make a ROM. I fell lucky that someone actually took apart a CM7 rom meant for another Optimus model and made it work for the M.

But maybe if you want you should take up and make a CM6 ROM...?
