Root CM7.1 and WiFi issues on Verizon Droid X

I am running Cyanogen Mod v7.1 with the Recovery flashed using ROM Manager to Droid X 2nd Init. Yesterday, WiFi was giving me issues and would not connect. Last night, I did a battery pull for 2 minutes and WiFi worked fine until about 5 hours ago. When it stopped working, battery was at 80%. The WiFi status just says "scanning" for about a minute, then says "disconnected" for about a minute, then back to "scanning" again. I am sitting right in front of the wireless router. No amount of rebooting, power cycles, battery pulls, enabling, disabling or Recovery flashes is fixing the issue, and my battery has dropped from 80% to 20% in 5 hours. Also, the bottom of the phone is hot. I am loving CM7.1...it's a shame if I'm not going to be able to use it - WiFi is a necessity. Has anyone seen this problem or know what the cause might be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One thing you can do is try different versions of the nightlies. In October I've tried about 5 different ones and had wifi issues with 3 of them. Also battery life varies greatly, in the 11/2 build my battery life is pretty good. In the last couple my battery life was terrible.
Also I've found that the wifi on the droid x in general is inconsistent/picky in general. It doesn't like certain routers and doesn't always get the strongest signal. In the same room my touchpad with cm7 always has better reception.

I an a little confused abou something; I was told that the "Nightlies" were Froyo builds and that I shouldn't use them, and that "RevNumbers" was the official release builds. Am I missing something?

Nightlies are experimental builds that are released frequently. Both the CM7s based on Froyo and GB kernels have nightlies, neither have stable builds yet. Basically I mean try different versions, sometimes earlier ones can work better for you and vice versa. If you are using the builds by Revnumbers then you are using the one based on the GB kernel.
