Root CM7 battery issue

Alright, I've been running CM7.10 for a few days now and I've mostly finished troubleshooting a few issues. I fixed the adobe flash plugin issue for stock and dolphin browser, and I've gotten used to using default android apps instead of the Sense ones.

But battery life is still an issue. Screen battery usage is great, an hour of use will use only a few percent, a massive improvement over stock sense (gingerbread and sense 2.1). However, phone standby (radio) and idle has used 85% of my battery in around 10 hours.

Here's a screenshot of my usage. I've been charging for a while so it says 86%, but before I charged it was at 50%

I have juice defender running as well, and for the most part I had data off. CPU is set at 1024 max. Is there any fix for this? I've heard of re calibrating my battery for screen drain issues, but I'm not sure if it would apply to my radio drain issues. I recall that a year ago when I first got my phone I was told to use my battery down as low as possible, before charging it. Should I have done this when I first installed CM7?

Thanks a bunch :)

The battery in this phone is really small for a smartphone. You might try running your battery all the way down till it dies then charge it back up while the phone is off. The CPU settings in cm7 have governors that you can use for battery conservation as well. Look into undervolting. This does help quite a bit. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I reset battery stats, drained and charged. So far I've gotten a major boost, but IMO still not as good as with Sense 2.1. Standby takes 43% and Phone Idle takes 40%. Display only 5%. At the end of the day, my batter is at 75% with juice defender- major improvement. Display is really great though, barely uses batter.

Can you (or anyone) provide a few links on undervolting? I'm not aware of the Pro's and Cons, etc.
