Root CM7 build question

I flashed the Tickerguy reloaded CM7 ROM on my phone however when I look at the mod version it is listed as a Tickerguy beta ROM and the build number is GWK74. Now I flashed the thunderprop on my phone as well and I suspect that may be why the description of the build is incorrect. Also the build date should be 2012 and my phone says it is from Nov 19th 2011. Anyone have an idea what is going on? I am dead sure that I flashed the TG reloaded ROM because I got it right from this site.

The tickerguy and tickerguy reloaded CM7 ROMs are old, the latest ones are by g60 and are called g60style, and they fix a lot of older bugs. Your build may be from November 2011 or maybe Whyzor forgot to update the timestamp when the ROM was under his development.

Question can I flash the newer CM7 ROM over the current TG reloaded ROM that I have on my phone. I don't want to do a wipe and lose everything because I have a lot of apps and games on my phone. If I can do this what is the process? If I have to do a complete wipe I prolly won't bother because I don't want to lose everything.

If you really want to keep all your apps and games, download Titanium Backup from the PlayStore. Back up all of the games and apps that you want. Download the newest CM7 build from G60 , wipe data and dalvik cache and flash it. Once you're on the newest build, redownload titanium back up and restore all your apps and games that you backed up.

I've been doing this everytime I flash a new ROM and I don't lose all my apps or progress on my games. Hope this helps ! :)

CMoffset hit it on the head. You will always want to wipe data and dalvik as if you flash on top you will carry over settings from the ROM which can be very bad. This is the best method I have found for moving from one ROM to another. Being a developer this is the only way to live. Once my DEV phone is back from Motorola after they repair the camera I won't need to be doing this on a daily basis any more.

Hey g60 flashed your CM7 ROM and just got all my apps and games back. That was the tricky part. It took me several hours to get my phone back the way it was before I flashed your ROM. Your ROM seems pretty sweet so far. Keep up the good work and get that camera working on CM9 will you. :-)

Yeah the focus right now is CM7.2.0 and once we get all the bugs ironed out will figure out what ROM is next.

I can confirm that the thunderprop changes the build info because I flashed the g60 CM7 ROM and it had all the correct build info. Once I flashed the thunderprop the build info changed to something different. I wonder why the thunderprop changes the build info. Anybody have any info on this?
