Root CM7 Google Apps issue

i guess so but I dig my android phone. I do have a CM7 question though. Everytime I install a nightly it seems to lose something with google apps. It also makes it hard to restore settings such as my gmail account.
Any idea?

#200 and later had the 160 dpi fix for Market. As long as you leave that in place, you shouldn't be having Market problems. I used to set my dpi to 174 and had all kinds of updates after installing #200 and leaving the dpi as-is.

Are you installing gApps with the nightly?

Restore settings? How are you doing that. I usually install a nightly and don't have to do anything. I wipe backup current rom and wipe Dalvik cache.

the issue ends up being it tells me to log in but the screen goes away and doesn't allow me to enter in any data. It looses my data but doesn't allow me to re-enter it for some reason. Which is why I think I'm not wiping something i'm supposed to be.

Are you sure you're using the correct gApps version?

This would be the latest gApps, newer than what is in the CM7 install guide: http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip

Now that the market issues are cleared up (for most people), I might update that link. I assume you're using the 20110613 version.

Looks like I should have merged this thread with this one: http://androidforums.com/nookcolor-all-things-root/419847-cm7-up-running.html#post3252133

Do you have an older recovery backup that ran ok?

In retrospect, maybe try this...

Boot into recovery.
Make a recovery backup!! If this doesn't work we still have your backup to restore.

Format system, data, cache, wipe Dalvik cache. Formatting data will erase all user data.
Install latest nightly build of CM7
Install gApps (latest 0828 version)
Reboot.

Installing the 0828 gapps solved the this same identical issue I had.

I just used RM to get it and I did wipe dalvik during the flash.

It made me go back through the google set up when it rebooted and solved the issue for me.
