ive been running cm7 rc1.5.2 for a few days now. and have noticed that my battery life has cut in half.
i was running ota rooted rom, mr2 radio and i was getting 14-16 hrs on it with medium usage. (on stock battery)
now i have cm7rc1.5.2 wit mr2 radio and the kernel that comes with cm7 and have been getting barely 10-13 hrs with light light usage.
i did the bump charge and battery calibration but hasnt helped out any.
ive been looking at some posts and seen people getting 16+hrs on this rom...
any suggestions or help would be much appreciated!

Firstly, I would discourage doing battery bumps as all they really do is hurt the battery in the long run.

I'm not familiar with CM7, but off the top of my head I would make sure there's no rogue apps that are pulling all the juice from the battery.

Have you considered flashing a different MR2 radio? There's quite a few from what I've seen (3-4 I believe?) and results seem to vary from person to person.

I would also consider re-flashing the entire ROM via recovery (with a full wipe of all data/dalvik of course). Hope this helps.

Currently the MR2 radio you see will be the OTA radio. There were older radios with the same name but the links were taken down off xda and moved to a separate post. I too have been seeing a little less than average battery.
Just an fyi, there is a CM7 thread with lots of helpful people in it, no need to create a new one.
Rouge apps are most likely the culprit check partial wake usage in spare parts and if that is inconclusive just give the phone a reboot and see if anything gets better, if not i would recommend trying a different kernel before trying to reflash the radio, or reflashing the rom.

No, it does not.

As for the topic, +1 to checking for rogue apps. Also, did you wipe? One of the pluses of ROM upgrades is that within the same ROM you do not need to wipe. However, wiping is probably a good thing to do with random problems like this. That way, you eliminate a whole host of problems that can be caused by transitioning from one version to another.

Your battery gauge is lying to you (and it's not such a bad thing) - xda-developers

"If you absolutely need the highest capacity on a device like this, you will need to bump charge. There are currently people experimenting with "fixes" for this, but I have yet to see one that works. Be warned, however, that repeated bump charging will wear your battery faster and begin to reduce its capacity. If you are a "power user" who will buy a new battery a few months from now anyway, this presumably isn't a concern. If you are an average consumer who uses a device for a few years, I would recommend that you stay away from bump charging. The bottom line is that you don't really "need" to do it unless you are actually depleting your battery to 0% on a regular basis."

To be clear, it is no the act of bump charging that wears it out, it is the prolonged time at ~4.2V (about top for Li-ion) that causes degradation in the electrolyte. I misunderstood what you meant, but the quote makes it clear.
