Root CM7 vs. SSX 2.0

O'k, for those of you that have run both or are in the process of running one after the other . Can we get a comparison between the two? I'm sure them both being Beta they have their issues. Is one winning out over the other yet or is the jury still out on both?

I like the "look" of stock CM7 over the stock SSX.
SSX seems a lil faster...

I think CM7 has a TON more support and stuff.
But SSX includes wireless tether and some other lil things that CM& doesnt have (working torch) and etc.

I plan to go back to CM7 after i get 1% batt numbers. lol
Bothe] are good, I PERSONALLY dont have GREAT batt life like i did on Apex 2.0, but it all depends on the phone and the user....

Overall, due to LARGE support, I would have to choose CM7 :)

After 2 weeks of daily flashing to see if something got fixed (camera, video, mms, torch, gps, battery life, etc.) I'm about to go back to stock GB and wait for a final release that has everything working, and then again, maybe I won't...
CM7 is a great idea, and the devs are a really sharp crew, but not having things on a "custom" ROM that even the weakest ROM from the factory has, IDK if I can hang with it anymore.

Granted i just flashed SSX so im certain to have issues eventually i love the customization options and overall performance of the SSX over the CM7....CM7 drove me nuts, so many issues. Now i was one of the lucky few that saw great battery life on CM7 so im hoping i get the same with SSX

since all cm7 themes work on ssx 2.0 that was a good thing to have
ssx has more functionality in its settings tab than cm7 does
ssx is snappier than cm7
ssx also has the working camera installed currently in the rom

cm7 is all around what made ssx what it is, and it has nightly builds to help improve it, so its really anyones guess

i think you can, but then again im not sure, i was on aosp liberty when i saw the ssx and tried it out. so i had to flash to froyo, since they are essentially the same thing, you may be able to, i would try it, just wipe data and cache, and if it doesnt work, you can always sbf :)

That's some good feedback if I do say so myself. And at the end of the day this feedback is what's really gonna sway someone one way or the other. I can say for sure your feedback is making me sway more towards SSX.

Being both ROM's are now in Beta, what happens in the future is anyone's guess.

I really want to go back to CM7, but I am going to wait till there is more function built in.

isnt SSX just a themed CM7 anyhow? So I dont see it 'working' any better ;)

The thing with stock ROMs is moto has all the src and drivers etc, so its not hard for them to get everything working. If Moto would unlock the bootloader and release their src code CM7 would rock no doubt in my mind!! Esp since it does already as it :P

they are nearly the same, but ssx is without a doubt the smoothest, and snappiest rom i have used, cm7 and ssx are basically the same but i bet their are differences in the codes

I find it funny there were no src ROMs for the DX til cvpcs released his and now they are popping up left n right all claiming they coded/recoded it themselves.

Compiling isn't coding lol, so I dont see how one could be so much better than the other when cvpcs has several ppl helping him out along with the community

just like drew garen did, however ssx gave props to cvpcs and the whole cyanogenmod team for their work, i believe it is the same thing, but not all roms are the same, and chevy has different features associated with his, it still has the cyanogenmod settings menu, but it also has the chevy menu, which was made by him, however he always admitted to it being a source rom of cm7
