Root CM7 Web Browser in Desktop Mode

I really do not like viewing the majority of the web in mobile and prefer using it in desktop. On CM7's web settings, it allows the user to change from Android to iPhone, iPad, Mac, and IE6 meaning Internet Explorer 6. Most of the webpages that I try to view will not let me view the content because they say my browser is too old but that's because it's making my phone look like that.

Is there anyway to bypass this and get to the site? I don't like using the mobile cause it's really watered down so I'd prefer desktop if possible.

or............... type in the url bar "about:debug" and hit enter. Then hit menu, more, and select UAString and select some other browser that way. It seems that its all about how the browser presents itself to the site that its requesting info from that determines how the info presented to the device requesting it... provided i worded that correctly, you should be good... i think :D

Use a different browser than the stock Cm7 one.

My personal favorite is XScope but many like dolphin

Yeah, I use Dolphin, XScope, Firefox, Opera, and a few others but I like having as many options as I can available. Plus, some of the applications automatically open the stock browser. Believe me, I've reset the default thingy in the Settings>Applications menu many times on it and it never truly works. But thanks for the tips.

I tried typing that but it didn't take me anywhere lol Are you sure that works for Android devices? I've used it in Firefox on my PC but it doesn't seem to work for me.

EDIT: Huh...when I type "about:debug", it didn't say anything but when I hit enter, I see new options in "More" such as "Dump navigation cache" and "Dump V8 counters".
EDIT2: Okay, I see what you're talking about. I was supposed to also hit "Settings" and when I did that, all the way at the bottom was "Debug" options with "UAString" and I found out where to change the way it views webpages whether in Android, Froyo, Mac, or IE6. But I was able to access those before using the normal Settings. I guess I'll try Mac and see how that works. Thanks for the tips! Much appreciated and I'm going to try using Debug more :D

I used to use Dolphin a lot. I am pretty sure there was an option to force desktop client on the browser...but who knows, it could have been removed at some point. I have gone with stock sense or stock aosp browser for quite awhile.

Yeah, in Dolphin I have it set to Desktop mode and it works pretty well. I just wanted it to work with the stock browser if possible too.
