Help CM9 Alpha 2 Won't Charge

Lurker
Hello all,

I was wondering if someone could help me out with the issue I am having. I have CM9 Alpha 2 on my Touchpad and it was working perfectly fine until recently. I was able to recharge it using my Touchpad charger when it was booted into WebOS, however, I accidentally left it on over night booted into CM9 and the battery died and now it will not charge. I have tried to use the Touchpad charger and the screen turns on and shows a dead battery symbol then shows a picture of a power cord and then the display turns off and doesn't charge. I then try using a BlackBerry charger and I plug it in and try to turn it on and it says to reliably charge this device use the charger that came with it and then turns off and doesn't charge. In both instances I have tried to do a hard reset (power and home button) in hopes that would make it reboot and charge but it does not work.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

What you described happened to me too...

The battery in my TP died a couple of weeks ago. I placed it on the touchstone but it only charged to about 10% after a full day. So..... I rebooted into WebOS and placed the TP back onto my touchstone. After a few hours the battery had charged to about 50%. I rebooted the TP back into CM9 and then placed it back on the touchstone. Within a few hours it had fully recharged. I suspect I didn't have to reboot as many times as I did but this helped me better track it's progress.

Since then I make it a habit of placing the TP back on the touchstone at around 50%...

Personally I'd prefer not letting the tablet battery get that low... but I forgot to toss it on the Touchstone that day.

I've noticed that the battery drop from 100% to 50% takes upwards of a couple of days for my TP. The drop from 50% to 0% goes a whole lot faster!

Saw this over at Rootzwiki:

I chatted with someone at HP and they helped me find a soloution. If your HP touchpad is not charging, it may be that you have to reset your plugin i.e. the cylinder that you plug into the wall. To reset it, unplug the cylinder from the outlet, remove the usb cable. You then twist the end of the cylinder with the prongs counter clockwise, then you twist it back to its original position. You don't have to twist it that far until you reach resistance in either direction.

There you have just reset your plugin, so plug it in directly to a wall outlet and hopefully you will be able to charge your touchpad. The customer service rep said to leave it plugged in for 2 hours to see if it worked or to get back in touch with them...but almost immediately I saw a white light down by the home key that pulsed back and forth.
