Root CM9 GPS issue.

Not sure if anyone else is having this problem or not, but it is pretty annoying.

Right now, I am running cm9 (3-20 build I believe) with the test gaming kernel. Whenever I try to open maps, it just lags, freezes, then I have to force close it. Whenever I try to navigate anywhere with the navigation app, it just hangs on the splashscreen and the softkeys stop vibrating untill reboot. This is very annoying, as I do go out of town quite a lot, and would like to have reliable navigation. Does anyone known what the problem is/how to fix it? Or am I the only one with this stupid issue

P.s. I have tried this with the stock CM9 kernel and the 2-23( i think) build as well. Same issue. It seems like the first boot after reflashing any rom, navigation works. But after rebooting, it stops again.

Yep, you're not the only one. I have the same issue, I'm on the 3-20 build.

Well let's see what happens when I release the next tester.

What I have been doing is moving from the ics branch to ics-release.

I'm hoping that the "release" side will have fixes and won't be changed in a damaging way like when we started with GB, and ICS for that matter.

It seems like mapquest is working alright. It's pretty slow, but working. So for those of you who really need gps, use mapquest for now.

I have the same build and no issue like this, gps works great actually.

Make sure when you wipe the device you wipe your dalvik cache and then your cache folder specifically. I don't know if that will help, but its what I do (just to make sure its wiped)

The GPS worked great in everything but Maps and Navigation... they never made it past loading screens. But in cases like this, where Google Maps won't be able to get me where I need to go due to service/app issues, I just use NavFree; VM service can be sketchy, so I like having a fully offline Nav backup app.

Gonna move on to test the 4/14 test build, and will make sure to do a full wipe... I always do, but I'll make sure my shit's extra clean (-_^)

Try the 4-14 build, Maps and Google navigation are working perfectly for me. I downloaded direct from Play instead of restoring through Titanium, I don't know if that made a difference.
