Root CM9 is booting (as I've heard)

Just a little update - I got mad at cm9 not working right, and bounced back to cm7. Ive got this one booting up and has some functionality. I'm a bit stuck right now trying to figure out the /sdcard and /sdcard/_ExternalSD. Does anybody know how the /sdcard and /sdcard/_ExternalSD are supposed to work in any rom that isn't our stock one? I've never used any android before besides that, so I'm not quite sure what it is supposed to be doing.

Does cm7 even have support for "dual" sd cards? If not, are we supposed to mount the microSD as the sd card, and then the internal FAT as something else? As it is now, neither of them mount for me. When I toss in our stock /system/bin/vold, the internal FAT behaves like an sd card and I can save screenshots and connect it to my pc. But I dont see anything at all happening with the microSD.
 
Adding support isn't rocket science. But I'm wanting to know if its already an existing feature and I have my config files setup incorrectly, or if its something that LG added into the source code.

From looking at the vold from our stock rom, it looks like they made some changes there. "[VOLD] Do remove _ExternalSD when mount"
 
And there is no way you can edit that to do the opposite? Lol I'm a lil nube so I'm just trying to learn. I hope to be a developer someday. Baby steps. :)

In the CM9 build I used to have installed, the internal sd was mounted at /mnt/sdcard and the external microSD was mounted at /mnt/emmc which may have been opposite of what is intended, but it worked well.

In CM10, the mounting is like so:

/storage/sdcard0 (internal)
/storage/sdcard1 (external)

I'm about finished with my first build using your CM7 device files.
 
If I tested this would I just flash it like a regular rom from cwm? And if I do flash it after I test it out could I just restore a previous backup after I hot through testing
 
Thanks for the offers. Unless you can help fix WiFi, Bluetooth and Data, then testing isn't really required until more things are working.

If you're referring to /system/etc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf... we're using the stock .conf.

On stock, wpa_supplicant exists in /system/bin/ and I think there's a symlink for it in /data/system/

I meant the one in etc and bin
 
I don't mean to be that guy but hows progress like working/not working and have any other devs been helping (like the three above maybe)???
