Cmon people! How is it?!?!

Took me 20 minutes to go from 20% to completely dead last night. Earlier today I had it fully charged at my office. Left for 2 hours and had very light use, except for a 12 minute youTube video and 15 minutes of navigation, and it was down about 30%

I am using video wallpaper, but I am on my iphone4 also.

I don't give a rat's ass hour many hours others are getting. I care about how many hours I am getting. That is how it is horrible for me.

No need to get all mad. Maybe your unit is messed up doesn't sound normal. Do you have power save checked in the settings?

The reason I responded the way I did was because of the way you responded to my post...

"other people are getting 10-12 hours, how is that horrible???"

I wasn't commenting on other peoples battery performance. I was commenting on mine. Your post implied I was an idiot to feel the battery wasn't good. Instead you might think of posting something like this...

"What kind of battery performance are you getting? I know others are getting 10-12 hours. Are you not getting this?"

This reply wouldn't assume that I thought 10-12 hours was bad performance.

No my post didn't imply anything. I was showing you other users usage as a analyzing tool. I believe your misinterpretation of what I wrote is the problem

knappkd, chill out please. I believe AndreaCristiano was referring to the general battery life not your specific battery life.

Please read his post again.

How's the battery horrible ??? Everyone on this forum is getting between 8-12 hours some even more how's that horrible? I mean my phone has been off the charger for seven hours and I'm using this puppy and I'm at 78% right now. So huh?.

I don't know how I am mis-interpreting this. He specifically asks how 8-12 hours is horrible? In my post I never said I was getting 8-12 hours. I never said "wow, i have been using this phone for 7 hours and and I am down to 78% already. This battery is horrible." I said the battery has been horrible for me. I am obviously not saying 10-12 hours is horrible or that 22% in 7 hours is poor.

Furthermore, how exactly do I need to chill out? I don't see how my responses require the need for a moderator to tell me to chill out. What exactly did I say?

Okay guys, let's bring this back down to normal conversation...

I'm sorry knappkd that your battery life isn't lasting a desirable amount of time, I think you should keep the phone for about a week longer and see if the battery life improves at all. If it does not, return the phone for a different unit and see if that new unit has better battery life.

i have had it off the charger for about 6 hours and im at about 45%, i have to say the battery life is a bit of a struggle. i saw seido has a 1300mAh battery avail, but a mere 6% increase in mAh life another say 40min for 40 dollars just isnt worth it. I'm hoping we can find a larger one in the same form factor would be nice since we can't mod the door.

Yes I was I meant no offense

My apologies if I took your post the wrong way. Too me it seemed as though you were being critical of me saying the phone's battery was not performing well. I agree 10-12 hours is pretty good. Especially for its size. But I am not getting 10-12 hours.

Again, my apologies if I took your post the wrong way.

Can you turn off live wallpaper and see how the battery life improves? The battery is the biggest question mark on this phone for me.

There are quite a few Desire HD threads that indicate it can take a week or more of battery cycling before the battery life reaches it's peak. This could be due to battery chemistry, but it's more likely that power management software needs data to compute your battery's specific discharge curve. I'm guessing the stock ROM ships with an "average" battery profile that is somewhat conservative to ensure that no one experiences a battery stressing deep cycle before your phone has had a chance to calibrate itself.

For some folks, battery life on the Inspire may never be acceptable, but I recommend giving it a week or two before reaching a final verdict.

Apology accepted :) did you check the power saver function. Also try and see if a certain app keeps running

This is probably close to accurate

I picked mine up yesterday at 11am and have been loving it ever since. Seems the more I figure out how to customize it the more I like it. So many features... so many settings!!

I'm coming from 3 generations of iPhones too and I will say that the notifications aren't as loud as the iPhone was, but I'm still working on that. Increasing the volume of the notifications and finding the right notification sound.

I was 1 year into my 2 year contract and got an early upgrade, so I paid $299 on the phone and bought $100 of accessories... which isn't much at ATT. Car charger, bluetooth headset and a Speck case. Buy 2 get one free.

I pulled it off the charger this morning and have been showing it off and playing with it all day at work and making plenty of calls. Bluetooth, GPS and Wifi on all day and I'm at about 20% battery remaining now, which isn't bad. I'm hoping through the week it will improve as it cycles some more charges.

Overall I love this phone... no regrets leaving the iphone behind!

EDIT: I got about 11 hours of of it with moderate to heavy use before I saw the red battery.

Yeah, power saver is on. Seems like there are too many apps running in background though. I need to go through and see which they are and why they are running. Out with the gf right now though, so can't play as I wish. ;)

I know how that is lol although I love being with her. She's the only thing that can pull me away from this ohone lol

I had to return the inspire for another because my original one had a piece of dust under the screen and the best part was as I was getting mine swapped out there were 4 other people there getting the inspire as well. 2 of them were coming from the incredible. The at&t salesman said that he purchased the Samsung Focus last week and wishes he waited for inspire :)

No the problem is i love it to much im busy playing with it :)
Took the words right out of my mouth.

Me? With all due modesty, I've had so many smartphones it takes an exceptional _Android_ phone to get me really enthused.

AND THIS... is the ONE!

As picky as I am, there has never been a phone that fits me like this one.

It's not perfect, nor does a perfect phone exist.

This Inspire, is excellent! Certainly ideal for me.

Yea this echoes my sentiments exactly

I came from CrApple 3gs, almost bought 2 iPhone4's (one mine and one my wife) but then a employee of AT&T was like "oh yeah here is this. It was unannounced and I'm not even supposed to have it out. uuuhhhh you wanna see..?" I was like pshaw fuzz ya!!!! Tired of having to JB that damn iPhone every time I wanted it to do something cool, yadaa yadaa yadahh. So here I am a $100 phone with a 2yr contact, 1 yr insurance and a car charger and I pay THE SAME PRICE as a iPhone4 with a 2 yr plan by it self, and then a case and a screen guard. 3rd party insurance....... I keep trying to talk my love into this phone, she is a "iPhontographer" and "iPhonaholic" needs it wants it, gotta have it......i dont care(lol). She'll come around, I mean it has a 8mp cam.....aaaaaaand can upload and mms a SLIDE SHOW, good luck iPhone..... Glad I made the jump, oh yeah, i WAS a iPhone user since day 1, until well I looked up!

I turned the screen brightness down from 60% to 45% yesterday morning and had the phone on for around 10 hours. After what I would consider moderate usage throughout the workday and evening, I had 40% left when I put it back on the charger last night. I'm gonna back off the brightness a little more today and see what happens.

And it has the WiFi's. :)

Ok here is what I think. First of all I am completely new to this forum. I am a Blackberry business owner who has dealt with personally owning and being devoted to Blackberry ONLY, for almost 10 years.....
My thoughts on Blackberry vs iPhone vs Android is for another thread entirely...
This is specifically for the HTC Inspire.. I originally picked up the BlackBerry Torch, not getting into what I think about that device :(
It was a toss up between this device and the iPhone 4 which I also just bought for my boyfriend..I went with this.
Not sure if I will ever go back to BlackBerry or not. I will probably run my global Tour with SIM card when I have to use my BB for the purpose of my business, but as far as my main phone. I have not even given BB a thought, nor have I really missed it enough to take my SIM card out of this phone to put it in my tour.

*sigh* I feel guilty for leaving what has been my life for a decade, but unless they make some MAJOR changes soon (which I dont see happening) I may not go back.
This again, is not coming for just your "average consumer" this is coming from a Blackberry business OWNER, who has ties to RIM and contacts high up. :(
