Root cmw backup failed - /sd-ext error

Caro332

I tried to perform a nandroid backup both manually and with ROM manager and for some reason I get this error:
' Error while making backup image of /sd-ext '
Anyone has any ideas? My last back up was earlier this month and I had no issues at all.

Your /sd-ext might be corrupted. Take the sd card out of the phone, and using a card reader (not the phone), reformat the /sd-ext (use mini partition tool, or something like that...:) ) Reflash your Rom and you should be good to go. That's how it worked for me, :) hope it helps.

Edit: thanks to Rob (insink71) for the fix.

Are u sure u have enough free space on your SD card for the backup to complete? If u don't it could cause that error.

Unfortunately I don't have an sd card reader :( Maybe I should buy one.

Space is not a problem. I have about 3.5GB of space. I did partition my SD card to use Link2SD. Would that create the problem?

edit: I tried something which seems to be working. If anyone else has this problem, do the following

Summary of the solution
1.) Download Root Explorer
2.) Enable Root Mode/Mount System
3.) Navigate to /system/
4.) Create a new folder called 'sd'
5.) Ensure you're phone has at least 50% of battery
6.) Reboot and try the backup again.
