Root Cog 2.3b7 Question

eos rebel

Lurker
So I just flashed my Cappy to Cog 2.3b7 and it's been great except I downloaded the wrong version, in that I grabbed the non OC version on accident. Am I able to flash the Cog 2.3b7 w/ OC version the way I originally installed it or do I have to go through Odin somehow? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could somebody specify the difference between the non and the OC version?

I'm assuming I'd want to install the OC version.

What exactly does the term mean...?

OC stands for overclock, for example your phone is not 1ghz and if you run the OC it will be 1.2ghz. i personally dont run the overclock version as i dont see a point in it and it could be dangerous

please correct me if i'm wrong, but i believed that installing the OC version only included the Voltage Control program that by default clocked the processor to 1280 mhz. this can be changed easily back down to 1000 mhz or lower (800, 400, 200, or even 100 mhz) in order to save processor power (and battery life).

i wanted the ability to change this so i installed the OC version then brought it back down to 1000 mhz.

yes thats correct. the first time i had an overclock rom the settings i put on it wouldnt stick so i would have to check it pretty frequently. i got tired of doing that so i went back to the non oc version. im giving assonance a try currently and it has a 1300mhz overclock and i disabled it and it seems to be sticking so far though. i have a slight undervolt also
