Root Cognition Keyboard

On the cognition 2.2 rom, there's apparently a lack of the original android keyboard. Being my favorite of the available keyboards, I'd like it back. Any ideas as to how to get it back?
 
The Android Keyboard was removed in the froyo leak by samsung. In beta6 and now 7 the new android 2.2 keyboard was added.

I tried reinstalling Android keyboard on my phone after installing a custom ROM with 2.2 firmware by downloading the android keyboard apk.

However, I had to uninstall it because it went force-close-crazy on me, so alas, I'm now back to my 2nd favorite keyboard which is Swiftkey.

Can't win 'em all I guess...

Weird, I just downloaded the latest version and it's 2.3b4
yet a month ago, you're talking about beta 6 and 7. Am I missing something here (besides the afore mentioned keyboards)?

What you're missing is that a month ago, the ROM versions were 2.2b6 and 2.2b7. The new one is 2.3b4. He ran out of numbers and started with the 2.3 series. The Cognition Wiki has all of the changelogs between the different versions. Check it out! As fast as the new and improved versions are coming out, there may be a new one before I'm done typing this post.
