Root Colors on the Battery Stats Graph/Notification Bar?

Hey all. I have two (semi-related) questions:

1. Loving the new battery stats graphs on gingerbread, but I'm wondering what the different colors on the "phone signal" part of the graph mean. I've seen beige, yellow, green, and red, and so far the only one I've figured out is red (which is obviously no signal). Beige/yellow/green doesn't seem to correlate to 2g/3g at all, and I have no idea what else it could be.

2. What does a blue as opposed to a white icon for signal strength on the notification bar mean?

I honestly dont think many people know. I would GUESS that it has something to do with signal strenght maybe
the blue/white ones below it are obvious (blue when screen is on or phone is awake)
