Combined focus/shutter button

Is there any way that I can operate the camera shutter just by tapping on the centre of the screen? Having to focus first then move to the virtual shutter button is awkward; if I am holding the phone in one hand my finger/thumb is near the centre of the screen over the focus button.

It's not exactly what you're looking for, but the free Camera ICS app gives you the possibility to use the volume toggle button for both actions: volume up for focus and volume down for shutter. So no need to move your finger to another area.
