Combined root sections

I think anytime you can get more users into fewer forums its a win for AF. In my humble opinion this could be applied to all forums here not just root. In other words, make separate forums for flagship devices, then have a single forum for other less popular models. I believe that would result in more eyeballs seeing threads in that larger, combined devices forum vs nobody wanting to post in a dedicated backwater device forum for the fear it won't be seen by anyone.

I moderate a big goldwing forum, and we have resisted breaking the forum down into anything smaller than Technical, General, Miscellaneous, For Sale, and of course The Fun Forum...

Complaints always come up from time to time to break it into sub-forums for the different models.... but I have observed on other motorcycle forums that when they broke their forums down into Model Specific sub-forums, the forums die from lack of posters.

Just like here, you have those who have done it before on that "old phone", or on that "old OS" and still have their bookmarks and excellent memory retention. Plus they are willing to help out across the board.

I think after the first few weeks, that improved forum activity will be a benefit for all. The prefix to models for searching should be enough. It is for our m/c forum. Our search engine does an excellent job, and is fast.

Btw the old (dead) atr sub-forums are still showing up in the galaxy s3 forum in the AF app and the new combined one isn't
