:mad: Give us an update to correct the SMS bug. Anyone heard anything new? I try the system update several times daily. :mad:

surprising that you don't have any bugs with it, i have one where it doesn't display peoples names, only numbers and other people have crashes... absolutely spewing that i accidentally grabbed the update they pulled
 
I'm getting the wrong names associated with messages, sometimes no notification when receiving a message and my phone sometimes freezes and restarts :mad:
 
I thought Google's SMS bug was different from this one. I believe this is to do with HTC's sense as using other sms apps such as Handcent seems to correct the problem. Also isn't googles SMS bug just sending messages to the wrong people? Thats not what I have.


Please if anyone knows, confirm this, I'm not a 100%

That bug has been fixed by google. So I guess we need to wait for HTC to release their update.

HTC might release the fix along with 2.3 but by the looks of it, its gonna be delayed. A new serious bug has been discovered today.

There are three bugs I am aware off, 1 is google and 2 is HTC

Google
This is where sms are getting sent someone you did not intend to send it to. This has been fixed in both 2.2.2 and 2.3.2 update for both Nexus One and Nexus S.

HTC
Notification problems - Sometimes too many notifications or no notification at all. 3rd Party Apps sovles this

Random deletions of SMS. Use a backup utility from the market to back your messages on your SD card so you can restore it (best to schedule it).

All three bugs should be fixed in the next update. The update will probably come after the WMC in Barcelona when they will announce an update for gingerbread.
 
ok i found this thread on a search and im being driven to ****ing MADNESS people...MADNESS i tell you!

i use GO sms, and allllll of a sudden, i cannot stop the default "messages" program notifications. so now i get the go notification, both sound and in the status bar, but also the default messaging app notification...both sound and icon in the status bar. i have retrieve turned off, notifications turned off...sound and icon...

i only want the GO notification....anyone else suffering from this insanity?

a bit dramatic, i know...its just been bugging me for a couple days. :D

Im getting different errors. I can't access my drafts without a force close. Closes the SMS app. So i hae no access to drafts and from what i've seen my notifications are not staying up until i decide to get rid of them. I get a text and may miss the tone, fine but when i check my phone next it will show nothing in the notifications bar. This can be an hour after the text. However if i get a text sent and check it immediately all the notifications are there..
 
Roxolid - had a couple of qs on handcent - is there anyway we can send an MMS (a picture) directly from the photo gallery? When i click on the share icon, it doesnt give me Handcent MMS as an option, just Handcent SMS, which doesnt do the job - it just hangs & does not send it.
Also, in a particular thread of messages, is there any way to select, edit and forward one particular message?
This is my first post in this forum. Have been following it as a guest for some time now ever since i got my DHD a month ago. Great forum, very useful!
