Coming SOON: May 31- HTC Evo V (4G)- ICS

There are no buttons on that phone. It's all touch screen. I've seen nothing to indicate that "everyone" has that phone (it hasn't even been out a full year yet), much less "lots of girls". Unless there's an online survey with these numbers somewhere?

No. The prices are not going down. ;)
The Evo in general I'm talking about. A lot of people have it and it's pretty ugly imo. Should've picked up a different phone, but w/e.

I'll be switching cause it's overall a better phone. Dual core, ICS shipped, albeit with Sense 3.6. I think they'd have to do a bit of tinkering with the ROMs to get it to work on VM's version of the phone.

i think the vm version works on the sprint version with very little issue. i cant imagine it being too hard to go the other way around. most likely theyre going to use the vm rom to make evo 3d roms since its the one thats actually ics lol.

HA HA HA!!! according to the wimax coverage map, theres a tower literally 100 feet down the street from my house! and same for everywhere else i usually use my phone! looks like i am sold 100% on this, great job VM (and HTC)

Lucky you. The closest tower for me is only about 300 miles away... Good thing I'm with T-mo...

what does the light green colored area mean? That's the only thing I see for the city I live in - covered by light green. Also it said "sorry, there's no service available at the address you entered". :(

it also says our network covers this area, but we arn't currently selling service here.

Awesome. I really hate the way the Evo looks... I'd much prefer they brought in a Galaxy Nexus or something alike with the same specs. The soft buttons on the Evo look... ugly... Plus EVERYONE has that phone (lots of girls too >.>).

Are the current 3G plans going to go down in price?

3g plans will stay the same

lucky:eek: im surrounded by hillbillies and rednecks:(. i use to live in norfolk, virginia. the only difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits. and im surrounded by stupidity. i would say about 20% have a brain in harrison county.

Will Sprint still upgrade WiMax or just leave it the way it is so I will never have 4g?

I kinda doubt they will do any updating of WiMAX. They don't care. They are moving on to LTE so they are more than likely gonna be focusing on that.

I'm tired of the slow 3G speeds with my Triumph, and with a WiMax tower across the street, this Evo V 4G might just be the ticket. So as long as I can get usable data speeds with my $40 1200 minute plan, this should keep my going for 2 years. And even though 3G speeds are throttled after 2GB, I saw somewhere that WiMax data won't be throttled. I hope this is true.

WiMax is throttled at 2.5 GB, if u pay 15$ more for Hotspot u get 3.5GB

Well, not to open the band aid on the open wound, but stories are still conflicting. VM's website says all plans are soft capped at 2.5GB, while The Verge supposedly heard directly from Sprint that 4G will not be throttled but 3G will. So I still really don't know.

hmmm who to believe... Directly from the source or from a 3rd party website... Just saying ;). I think VM's site is more reliable than a 3rd party site.

That must have been where I read it. Lets hope they are right, not that it really matters. I'm not a data hog. I just want it there when I need it, and at my current $40 rate. :)

The old grandfathered plans will go away if you purchase any of the new phones after May 27th. I will be losing my $25 plan and getting to pay the $35..whoopie:(

Just curious, what don't you like about it? It looks virtually identical to most HTC phones. Do you dislike the look of all HTC phones in general, or is it something specific about this one? I haven't seen it in person so please enlighten me. Buttons? Shape? Materials? Colors?

I don't like that it has an extra switch for 2d/3d, seems like a waste on something that can easily be managed in software.

How much does a dual core CPU cost? Because I just read VM/Sprint never specificed what it is...so they could shaft us and put a lesser one to save money.....like how a site said took out the 3D screen, maybe the CPU also to make it cheaper :what:
