Help Commando question for users

Ok first, with all the crap Verizon put on the phone can you remove it without rooting? or is it locked? I have Droid X and love it but i'm willing to give up the faster speed and bigger screen for toughness because i'm a firefighter.
Does any one have better details about this phone Casio's website doesn't even mention processor speed and other stuff?
And did anyone hear go from a Droid X to this Casio? What did you think?

Processor is 800MHz and I went from droid 1 to commando and don't have any complaints. Root is the only way to get crap apps off.

I just traded my x last night for this phone. And so far its great. Touch screen takes time to get used to. But I don't notice too much of a difference


On a side note. I'm a volunteer fire fighter as well. Don't leave this phone in your bunker gear. It will melt! I did it to my old casio tough flip phone.
