Help commando wifi

i am new to android devices, ive never had one before but i am STRONGLY considering this one. Im also just as new to wifi. Ive heard the term 'adhoc connection' before. would anybody here be able to explain this to me? Is this phone capable of performing one? from what i gather, basically it replaces or takes the place of a router or some such. thankyou!

I don't know what the ad hoc connection is, but the phone does have the capability of becoming a wireless hotspot. The phone becomes like a wireless router. I think it will support up to 5 devices. You can set a password so others cannot use your signal. The hotspot capability is available for an additional charge to your service plan.

Thanks sammy, however, i was already aware of that, but thnakyou. i am not exactly sure what an ad hoc connection is either, and truth to tell, the only reason why i care is because of a toy. in due time, like, when they come out, i would like to get a parrot a.r. drone. These are the quadrocopter thingys that are able to be controled by a phone. first it was apple. and i guess people ARE, after a fashion, able to control apple drones with android devices, but only those that are able to perform an ad hoc wifi connection. I believe they are coming out with the official android ar drone in the middle of june, if im not mistaken. anyway, was just curious if this casio android would be up to the task.

Yes the casio and pretty much all the other android phones can do adhoc. The adhoc mode is a direct connect wifi mode so you can connect devices together with out using a wirless router.

idk maybe software isue with the plane software caz I use adhoc to tether my rooted casio phone and it works just fine.

maybe it would have to to be a rooted android phone might wana ask around to see if any one tried that.
