Before I take this new Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 back, is there a way to get a compass on it. Its of no use to me if not.

Thanks for the suggestion. Ive tried 2 or 3 apps and none of them work, unfortunately, including this one. Im getting a sense that Samsung didnt install the necessary tech in order to use a compass. Too bad. It fairly nice but without basic functions found on all the competitors, its pretty much worthless. Should make some one a great target for practice in the even
t that it cant be returned.

Yep, according to the gsmarena page, it doesn't have a compass: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_tab_4_10_1-6247.php (but I've seen rare ocassions where gsmarena is wrong)

Thanks for the response. That confirms what I figured. The tablet has already gone back to Sams. Great price, great almost everything else. Just lacked that one needed item. Too bad. Thanks for everyone's help

When considering a device, check the specs on the site GSM Arena.
I think(?) that will tell you if it includes a compass
