Compass. Does it actually work?

They're semi accurate, and are affected by electronics from what I hear. They're most effective in an open area close to the ground since they detect magnetic signals.
Apparently they're pretty hyper sensitive too.

Problem is I tried with a Droid Incredible 2 in the same location and that was accurate, while the LG was just showing something random. I don't think my compass was ever accurate so far...

I said semi accurate referring to the LG's specifically. Thing is, it also depends on the placement of the detector on the phone too in concern of the accuracy...

I have the terra time clock app & you can change the clock to compass mode. I think it's fairly accurate. I have to go to the Dr later & I will check it out & do screen shots. It would be nice if I could put the compass inside my gps, but I can't. I don't use metronavagation, I use telenav
