Help Compass points the wrong way. How to fix?

So, I tried recalibrating about 5 times... tried uninstalling then reinstalling the Maps app a few times... none of that helped or fixed the compass issue.

In portrait mode, the compass points the opposite of actual East or west. In landscape, it points the opposite of North/South. I'm hoping someone finds a true fix for this.

Ok folks,

So the engineers are on it and appear to have zeroed in on the problem. That's good. A fix should hopefully be coming sooner rather than later, but I don't have any concrete timing for you yet. I'm sure this is a pain, and if I were you, I'd want it resolved as soon as possible. I'll keep monitoring progress internally and circle back with you when I know more.

good to know google is actually doing somehting about it..

unlike Moto who releases a beta version of GB on us calling it a full release, and then is unresponsive when you tell them about all the problems it has.
