Help Compass problems

Hello everyone!

I have the X8 for about a week, and since the beginning I'm having a problem with the digital compass...

When I enter the application that comes preinstalled ("Compass"), the compass is not moving and eventually crashes my X8 and I need to remove and insert the battery (the phone becomes unresponsive). But now, after a clean restart, the compass is working normally (and pointing the correct North direction) until this situation happens again.

This happens a lot of times... And as you can imagine is kind of annoying!
And I can confirm this is not a "Compass (application)" problem, because I've tried the Service Menu compass test and nothings shows and again, crashes the phone.

Anyone experiencing this problem? Thanks!

i didnt use compass much..

but my prob is not like urs, its working but easily giving wrong direction n ask me to calibrate often to make it works again..

That also happens to me. But I guess it's normal.... I never tried outdoors, but I guess that's a normal behavior indoors (quite a few magnetic fields - laptop, TV, etc.).
