Is anybody else's compass completely useless?

finds north(ish)... rotate the phone 90 degrees and it points in the opposite direction. move phone back where it was and the needle is in a completely different location.

It makes apps like layer or skymap useless.

gps works fine. i did the XDA fix... but i wasn't really having any problems before that.

navigation app works fine.

just compass dependent apps are all screwy.

it will probably be fixed along with the gps update

Mine works, but it is SLOW to "catch up".


The Behold II was fairly quick, and almost instant by comparrison.

I'm thinking it's a software issue with reading the built-in accelerometers (Since it DOES catch up, just not quickly)

yes the compass is busted along with the gps, crossing fingers that the optimization also optimizes compass, a busted compass does navigation no good.

I've mentioned in a couple of the other threads now that the compass is much improved in the leaked rom. It is now very useable as .... A COMPASS!
