Help Completely ****ed

Android Enthusiast
This is great. I did the custom recovery and did a nandroid backup of what I had. My distro was all ****ed up for some reason. It would not recognize applications on my sd card properly.

After I did two versions of ROM zero and both of them gave me the old market, nothing would install, and I could not read the sd card. Then I did another install with all the beta kernels and all that, nothing. I could not get anything to install.

Finally, I decided to go back to my ****ed up distro, and I did nandroid restore. The ****ing thing did nothign but change my boot sound and do a factory reset of whatever I had installed on it before I did the restore. Now I cannot get back to my old distro, ROM Zero will not work, and I have a custom recovery with no way to access files on my SD card to install anything to make this phone usable.

Can anyone help? HEven when I email things to myself they do not install.

Whoa whoa whoa calm down. Explain step by step what happened exactly how you did it what version of optimus m phone you have and maybe you can get some help

Thank you, Asadullah. I started with a 2.2 stock system. I rooted the phone. Then, suddenly, the phone would not recognize applications from the SD card. I just bought a nice SD card from a good store. I could access the card, but I could not get the OS to load all the applications from it.

So, I put the custom recovery in. But there was an error saying there was no file to be backed up in the directory the post mentioned. I got this message: failed on '/system/etc/install-recovery.sh' - No such file or directory

I figured that meant there was no file there, like with the boot sound. So I just kept going. I did the custom recovery through the adb shell, because I was learning how to use that earlier and it was available at the time.

When I booted into the custom recovery, everything seemed normal except I got a " E: bad boot message " " That extra inside quotation mark was in the message itself.

So, I did the nandroid backup of what I had, even though I did not think things would get worse. I wiped the data, and I installed the newer version of ROM Zero. When I got into that version, I could not install applications from the market, from email, and I could not access the SD card to try that.

I tried previous versions of ROM Zero that I saved on my SD card for future use a while back. I wiped before each install. Those did the same thing, failed to install the applications.

I'm stuck here... If I need to add more detail, please ask I can try to do that. I am grateful for your help.

Reilus stop bashing mine and team chickeneaters work. I'm done talking about this situation. I was gonna help you resolve this but the way you blamed the rom ... I just can't right now.

I didn't blame the rom. I thought I was very clear that I wanted to know what I was doing wrong. I was outlining the problems I was experiencing with the ROM. I thought you might like to know.

I did not come on in all caps being negative about the rom or you or anyone. It was not my intention to appear that way. I am not one of these kids who writes in red or bold or whatever and starts yelling shit.

I am not sure how I can explain myself better.

Dude, I read the whole thread and even posted a message to you about your misfortune before I started messing with the ROM, which I thanked you for when I downloaded in months ago, planning to use it later.

I've tried to report my problems so you, as a developer, can fix them. I tried to ask you for help with my problem because this is my phone and it is important to me. Now, I am told that I am bashing the ROM? I've been courteous and respectful the entire time I've been here and the entire time I've been in contact with you.

Don't you think you could maybe take a fresh look at it and consider that you might have misunderstood me? This isn't fair, dude. I haven't been an asshole to anyone. I don't think it's fair that I should be accused of bashing work when I wasn't.
