Root Completly Off-Topic but help would be AMAZING

I have a friend and he isnt too tech savy and wants me to help him root is new phone....hes got the HTC G2 from t-mobile. Any one here know anything about the phone, there isn't a forum link for that model on here...could it be known as a different name other than G2?
